You just don’t wake up one day smarter than the day before. We don’t develop via osmosis.
I was not a book reader but got influenced or forced to read when I joined the Eagles Group. But now, I keep 3 to 6 books going at all times now! Guys, I’d like to encourage you to do the same. Be a book reader! Reason for which is that we become what we think about. And the only way for us to have greater thoughts is to educate ourselves. Reading books shifts our mindset. A paradigm shift occurs! Now, go ahead and grab a good book!

Allow me to talk to you about committing to a constant and never-ending improvement. When I start thinking about my life, I start thinking about the businesses that we own and some of the things that we've done - it's been kind of 42 years of a constant state of improvement! Trying to move. It's always trying to do better.
One of the things we can do is to ask ourselves tough questions and then you know we've really got to do better as we go forward. I remember a quote that Oliver Cromwell said back, this is you know forever ago, back in the 1600s and he said, “he who stops being better stops being good”. I don't know about you but I don't want to stop being better. I want to be good all the time. I always want to be kind of making some progress - improve in small incremental ways.

It's okay sometimes for your kids to be disappointed. I’m talking about this morning is that when the kids get older and they get out there's gonna be an an area of disappointment that they're going to experience and if they don't experience some level of disappointment today they're not going to be able handle it as adults.
I just want to tell you parents don't beat yourself up today. If there's things that you can't do for your kids and I really see this a lot in in guys that our coach today that have done very very well financially and they think well because I've done well financially I've got to give my kid everything that they want. That is not true! I can just tell you right now that is not true! I want you to give your kids the things that you think that they need and things that they don't need, don't give it to them. I don't care how much money you've got because you're not doing yourself or the kid any favor whatsoever and giving them everything that they want, that's just not reality. That's not what life is going to do for them long term. If you don't teach them to deal with disappointment today, they won't be able to deal with
disappointment as an adult.
