Have you ever thought about how much your words matter you know? In the book of James it talks about how if we can hold our tongue. If we can get control of our tongue we can control our whole body and I'm like man that is such a powerful word. To think about our words and how they matter. Think about the ways that you could encourage your peers and your colleagues. Start at home. Think of ways that you could encourage your wife instead of belittling her and berating her in front of her friends. Think about if you encouraged and edified her. I want to tell you right now man your words matter and I want to encourage you to think clearly today on how you can edify and encourage those that are around you.

I cannot emphasize this enough but it is so important to be the "connector". I have come to learn this years and years ago, probably decades ago now, that it has paid the most dividends in my professional career as well as personally ..... how to be a connector. To be a connector, you simply connect people that need to know each other on a daily basis. I mean, literally, on a daily basis. Such practice or habit has its value/importance. It is so important to get an introduction to the other person or vice-versa. It cuts to about 90% of the bureaucracy, the red tape, if you will, by introducing someone to somebody because they assume that they have already been vetted - they know that they are a good person.

I wanted to encourage you guys to do is to serve. Either in your local church or in your community. Don't spend all your time working and trying to make money. Listen, we're gonna be remembered for that legacy and it's not for how much you've got but it's how much you give away. Take the time out and serve locally. Serve the people that are around you and I promise you the dividends will be huge. If you're feeling that tug to go and serve at your local church, don't be, you know, just a taker, be somebody that give. So use your skills. Use your talents and see what can happen as a result of it.

Have you ever noticed in pro sports or even college sports people how they win all the time? Do you know why they win all the time? They know how to recruit. They're the best recruiters on the planet. Those guys know how to pick the team. Why do we think it's any differently in our businesses? We go out and we get the cheapest person. You're like, "Hey, come on you're $12 an hour, we'll take you. You're $8 an hour. You're $20 an hour. You're $50 an hour." Whatever it is that you think is cheap, for whatever that you're having them to do, you pick that person rather than their passion, rather than their heart. You need to pick the right person. You need to go after the talent. The ones that have heart.
