No One Is Following You Because You Have No Vision

I titled this no one is following you because you don't have a vision. Let me tell you what I mean by that. Man, years ago a guy shared with me, he said, '"Hey, where there is no vision the people perish." I know that's a biblical reference but it applies to us today in our lives. I want to encourage you guys to write down your vision. Draw a map. I know it may seem foreign to you but nobody's gonna follow you in your family if they don't know where they're going. You couldn't get to Stephenville Texas right now from Nashville Tennessee without a road map.

Do You Even Want To Be Better?

What I want to talk to you today is about the enthusiasm to get better. But I'd like to ask these to you, do you even want to be better? Would you rather be comfortable with what you have and stay in mediocrity?

In order for us to become better, we got a community around us. We got to be around people who will sharpen us, push us to be better, call us out for our blind spots, etc. The only way, I mean the ONLY way we are gonna be all God calls us to be is to live in a community.

A Little Bit Of Effort Goes A Long Way

I gotta be honest with you. Some of you need a little bit of that work ethic. Some of you need to breathe that into your children. Some of you need to teach them that they are not entitled - that you are not going to give everything. Listen, the harder you work the blessed you get - that's why I have titled this "A little bit of effort goes a long way." I just want to encourage you guys today that when you teach your children or grandchildren to work is not gonna kill 'em.

How To Pay Your Obligations When It Seems Difficult

Listen, do you know how tough it is to come up with the money for your taxes and those huge expenses in your company?

For years I've even maybe decades I didn't have a good system for that. Well about a year and a half ago I was introduced to Profit First, Mike Michalowicz and I want to tell you just to be totally honest, don't tell Mike I said this, but I thought it was some kind of hoax or scam or something you know. I've like I'm skeptical about that kind of stuff until I start really digging in. Well, we read the book in the mastermind group together, it's called Profit First and I'm going to tell you, even after reading the book I thought now I'm not sure how much merit I'm gonna put into this thing. How much validity is really there till a lot of the guys started saying, "Now we're gonna do this." And I'll tell you, I can't even begin to tell you how many guys in the mastermind have implemented that strategy into their business.
